I am Cynthia Singleton. I have been an accountant for over 25 years, and I started A Boss Bookkeeping because too many small businesses in the DC area are operating on numbers they do not trust.

No, and for monthly bookkeeping you do not need one. A bookkeeper records and reconciles what
happened in the business. A CPA files your return and plans your tax position. I keep the books clean, so
your CPA spends their time on strategy instead of cleanup. If you do not have a CPA, I can introduce you
to a few.
It doesn't matter. Three months or three years, we rebuild it. Catch-up work is quoted after a free look
at your current file, so you know the number before we start.
Only if what you're using is actively hurting you. I work in QuickBooks Online. If you are running on
spreadsheets, we will move you, and the migration is included in your first month.
Read-only access to your bank accounts and a way to send receipts, which for most clients is a photo
taken on their phone. After setup, most people spend under 20 minutes a month on this.
Bank connections are read-only, so we can see transactions but cannot move money. Documents move
through an encrypted portal rather than email attachments. Access is revoked the day an engagement
ends.
That happens. Cleanup and catch-up can be a one-time project with no ongoing commitment. Most
people choose to stay on monthly afterward, but there is no requirement to.
Yes. Everything including the first meeting can happen remotely, and plenty of clients are in other states.
Local businesses are welcome to meet in person.
